For a long time I made hummus every week to have with our Friday night dinners, then my favorite little food processor broke… and my son was born… and my access to ingredients changed…
Now, I’ve got a new food processor, my son enjoys hummus, and I’ve figured out how to adjustment for the ingredients I can get easily.
Hummus make a great dip for appetizers or an amazing, high protein snack with sliced vegetables or tortilla chips. I like to garnish with a sprinkling of za’atar and a drizzle of olive oil.
1 Can Garbonzo Beans, drained
2 Cloves Garlic
3 TBSP Tahini
3 TBSP Olive Oil
Juice of 2 Lemons
1 TSP Salt
1 TSP Pepper
Put all the ingredients into a food processor and run until it reaches a smooth consistency (or not quite so smooth, if that is your preference).
I find that putting the garlic in first helps to make sure that it is fully blended. If you don’t have a food processor, a blender should work well, too.
Yup, it’s that easy.
